All of our staff practitioners are Licensed Acupuncturists (L.Ac.) by the Commonwealth of Virginia Board of Medicine. Their licensing requires passing the examinations and certification of the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM).

Love of teaching and educating others about the medicine she practices fuels her passion for a lifelong study of alternative and complementary medicine. She hopes that one-day integrative medicine will include the valuable wisdom of many cultures and healing modalities to provide health care and relief to everyone in the best ways possible. Growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Lorraine enjoys gardening, hiking, caring for animals, supporting the local economy, preserving natural resources, and living mountain life.
Stephen Kirbach, L.Ac. - Staff Acupuncturist
That Stephen Kirbach’s ride through life has come to intersect with the study and practice of acupuncture has proven fortuitous and feels wholly apropos, not by intent so much as revealing. He feels best when he’s working to help others feel better. He idiotically studied poetry for about 5 decades before settling into acupuncture studies, and the transition was (arguably) seamless. Among multitudinous mishaps, he has driven old cars coast to coast until they irrevocably broke, walked, broke a rib, rode freight trains, broke an elbow, turned blue, swam, fell off a horse, nearly drowned, walked some more, fell off a boulder, walked yet even more, and once briefly flew (resulting in another broken rib). Now he’s finally starting to learn simply to drift. He has an MA in English and studied acupuncture at Jung Tao School of Classical Chinese Medicine. He is NCCAOM board certified and licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Virginia.
